Infrastructure Check with Peck

We continue to highlight some of the many key programs we are working on related to infrastructure, quality of life, and public safety. If you missed last month’s highlight of infrastructure initiatives, you can see it here.

Council Update

At the August 17th Council Meeting, we had some great progress with license plate reader technology, Agnes Moffitt Park, a new HPD station for the Northwest Division, and the recreational component of the Inwood Forest Detention Project. Click on the video to hear more about these projects!

Pitner Road Crime Initiative

The District A Team and I recently participated in a community meeting to address crime on Pitner Road. We joined SpringSpirit, the Spring Branch Management District, HPD, and the community to discuss the crime reduction initiatives we have in the area and the importance of reporting issues to HPD. Here is more information from KHOU’s story about this meeting and the reduction of crime on this street:

Project Updates

Bolivia Blvd. Clean Up
We recently hired a private trash company to supplement heavy trash pickup in District A. They also help with heavy illegal dumping pickup that requires industrial equipment. They recently cleaned up the dumping on Bolivia, and the Near Northwest Management District mowed the grass. We will continue monitoring the street with our illegal dumping Hot Spot Team.
Creekmont Dr. Overlay from Antoine Dr. to Mangum Rd. (in progress)

Clean & Green Program

We partnered with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office Environmental Crime Division for the Clean & Green Program. It is a community service program in which defendants pick up trash. They recently picked up the trash on Alabonson!

Nuro on the Road

You may start to notice Nuro’s Autonomous Vehicles on the roads in District A. Nuro is Houston’s first autonomous vehicle delivery service and is expanding operations into our community. These vehicles generate detailed maps to inform the self-driving system, drive autonomously on the road, and run pilot programs with partners for real deliveries.

If you have any questions about Nuro, visit their website www.nuro.ai, or contact the local City and Community Manager, Mark D. Solano at [email protected]

Upcoming Events
