Dr. Hodges ushered in the 2014 HCC Newspring Business Plan Competition with a reception at Wallis State Bank on Jan. 9. All applicants are either students of HCC’s Small Business Management class or graduates of the HCC Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.  Each of the 25 teams chosen will be mentored by two advisers from February through April as they refine their plans to start or grow their businesses.  The 95 contestants and mentors meet one-on-one and also will also benefit from five training sessions held by Newspring’s master trainers Jack Barry, Richard Tyler and Robert Westheimer.  Finalists will present to judges in April for a chance to win a cash prize.HCC congratulates the contestant teams chosen for the invaluable training and mentorship they will receive in the competition.
