Math Tutoring Program will be provided at Korean Community Center. from 1st week in May to 2nd week in August for 2 hours/week, for 10 week to students in grades 4 through 12 and adults taking GED.

The mission of this newly developed program is to help students who need to improve their math skills while promoting confidence in the math class. The tutoring will be possible by tutors who will dedicate their time and knowledge to help promoting young people’s better future.

The registration fee is $20.00 including workbooks and will take place at KCC library or classroom on Wednesday for 2 hours during 9 AM to 4 PM or Saturday from 10 AM to Noon. The tutoring hour will be arranged by student and tutor based on their availability. Depending on tutor/student ratio, the tutoring will be provided one-to-one or a small group setting. Students will choose one subject from Arithmetic, Pre-Algebra, Algebra and Geometry based on their need.

Volunteer tutoring is rewarding volunteer experience. Without, volunteer tutors, this program will be unable to be offered. We will accept tutor application until April 20 and the tutor orientation will take place on May 13, Saturday for 2 hours. Adult who has college or post college education and who is able to tutor math in English could apply for this volunteer position. 11th and 12th students who are excel in Mathematics could apply for tutor position as well. If you can’t commit 10 week period, a back-up tutor will be available.

KCC will conduct background check for all tutor applicants before the tutor orientation. At that time, materials will be provided to tutors.
