The property that was formerly the site of the Menninger Clinic was acquired by Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital‘s (HBHH) parent company, Signature Healthcare of California, about a year ago, and started renovations then. Today, the facility has a capacity for more than 160 beds, but is only licensed for 88 beds for now.
The hospital will offer services to adults and adolescents, including medication management; group, individual and family therapy; recreational and occupational therapies; and stress management and coping skills.
”Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is very excited to join the Spring Branch community,” said HBHH CEO Lucinda L. DeBruce, R.N., M.S. “Our mission is to be the regional leader in behavioral health services and will work to develop programs that meet the needs of individuals from the Houston area.”
“Our medical and clinical staff are ‘top tier’ in their respective fields and bring much knowledge and clinical experience to our services,” DeBruce added. “Our goal is to assist every person asking for our help by either delivering services that meet their needs or partnering them with another Houston agency or facility better able to meet their needs.”
Signature Behavioral Health Care manages acute psychiatric hospitals based in California, Illinois, Nevada, Arizona. In Texas, the company has hospitals in Dallas, San Antonio, Austin and Houston. The new hospital is expected to add as many as 300 jobs––primarily healthcare professionals––to the community.
“We look forward to a long and successful tenure in the Spring Branch community. We view Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital as our ‘work home’ and as such, will take care to be a positive impact on the community”.
