While Spring Branch Independent School District administrators are in the early assessment of their campuses after four days of rain and destructive flooding from tropical storm Harvey, they are offering assurances to parents and children affected by the storm.

“Please do not worry about whether your child will be able to return to his/her home campus if your family is displaced,” said Linda Buchmans, community relations officer for the district in a statement released Wednesday evening. “Your children are our children — we will make every effort to assure they are able to remain at their home school. Efforts are underway to assure our schools will open with social services teams prepared to help families in need.”
