August is here and school is right around the corner, which means there will be plenty of ways to keep busy in Spring Branch for families on-the-go. In addition to entertaining the kids before they head back to their classrooms, it’s important to make sure they have the supplies and vaccinations they need to start the year off right. Check out our chosen list of Spring Branch events below.

FASHIONABLY LATE Saint Arnold Anniversary Party, The Branch, August 9, 5pm-12am

New craft beer spot The Branch is belatedly celebrating the birthday of Houston’s oldest craft brewery, Saint Arnold’s. They’re considering it a tribute to one of the greats, and will have five local “tribute” beers on tap (as well as your Saint Arnold favorites). Come for the beer, stay for the chocolate-stout-glazed churros.

Pajama Story Time, Collier Regional Library, August 9, 7:00-7:30pm

If celebrating a brewery doesn’t seem like your cup of tea, consider suiting up in your favorite PJs and bringing the little ones to Collier Regional Library for Pajama Storytime. Participants are encouraged to snuggle down for soothing stories of superhero exploits in the library’s meeting room, making it a very calm way to spend your Wednesday.

Spring Branch Health Fair, Spring Branch Family Development Center, August 19, 8:00am-12:00pm

The Spring Branch Family Development center will be hosting their annual health fair on August 19th to help get kids ready to head back to school. Free vaccinations and school supplies will be on hand, as well as free adult health screenings for busy parents. Don’t have kids? Consider volunteering to help the SBFDC put on a great event benefitting the Spring Branch community.
