After noting last month that the construction progress on Long Point Road is almost halfway complete, Chris Edwards of the engineering firm Cobb Fendley & Associates says more progress has been made.

“The west bound lanes are just about complete from Hollister to Westcrest,” Edwards said. “They’re about to pour the bridge deck for the westbound lanes.”

Edwards also said the underground water line is nearly complete and workers are currently installing sanitary sewer improvements.

“In the next few weeks, they’ll be looking to move traffic on Long Point onto the newly constructed lanes through Bingle, and then get to work on the eastbound (south) side,” he added.
