Economic Development

The Economic Development Committee meets every 2nd Wednesday at the District offices [9600 Long Point, Suite 250] from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm.

The Economic Development Committee is dedicated to supporting the business community through promotion across various social media sites, the District website, and eblasts, spotlight stories written by professional writers, façade improvement assistance with the Business Improvement Grants (BIG), and demolition assistance with the Demolition Grants.

Business Improvement Grants

The Board of Directors for the Spring Branch Management District (SBMD) has established and funded the Business Improvement Grant to provide funds for commercial property owners within the District’s boundaries, in support of revitalization on a case-by-case basis. Grants are available on a 50/50 basis with a $10,000 cap per grant. Approved projects must complement the color and character of surrounding businesses and must meet the City’s Code of Ordinances.

Demolition Grants

The Spring Branch Management District (SBMD) Board of Directors has established and funded the Demolition Grant program to help pay for improvements and to revitalize the community. Grants are available and dependent upon these guidelines.
