Texas Capital Bancshares Inc. (Nasdaq: TCBI), the 15th-largest bank in Houston, said Tuesday that CEO George Jones will retire on Dec. 31.

Keith Cargill, recently the president, COO and chief lending officer of Texas Capital Bank, will take over as CEO of Texas Capital Bank NA and COO of Dallas-based Texas Capital Banschares effective Tuesday.

Around the beginning of 2014, upon Jones’ retirement, Cargill will take the helm as president and CEO of Texas Capital Bancshares.

“Keith and I were co-founders of Texas Capital Bank and have been friends and partners for 35 years,” Jones said in a statement.

In Houston this past week, Texas Capital Bank hired a long-time local commercial bankerJohn Sarvadi, formerly of JPMorgan Chase & Co., to take over as Houston region president.

Sarvadi stepped into the role as Bill Wilson, who served as Houston region president since 2009, was promoted to Houston region chairman.
