The Spring Branch District shone a bit brighter last week when the Board of Directors hosted the Third Annual Christmas Social on Wed., Dec. 11. Some 150 community members attended the social and Second Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony at Gessner and Long Point Road.

Cookies, cocoa and entertainment were provided. A merry time was had by all.

In addition to celebrating the holidays, the District also gave outgoing Houston City Council Member Brenda Stardig an award thanking her for her service to the Spring Branch Community and District A. The event was also a great opportunity to celebrate Council Member Stardig’s birthday!

The District has been putting on the Holiday Social for three years and plans to continue to host them, perhaps moving the event and lighting to another area along Long Point Road as the main thoroughfare for Spring Branch is redeveloped.

The District’s first-ever Holiday Lighting Ceremony was started last year to celebrate the season and improvements completed along Gessner Road. New street lights were the perfect place to attach holiday decorations and bring the spirit of the season to the Spring Branch District.

Kristen Gonzales, SBMD business and community liaison, coordinated both events and would like to thank City Flowers for donating the centerpieces this year. Visit them at 10331 Londonderry Dr. and www.cityflowersSB.com.

“Our annual Holiday Social and Lighting Ceremony is always a great event.” Gonzales said. “We love having the community come together during the holidays and are excited to make it bigger and better next year and every year.”

Enjoy the video and photos posted below from the event. The Spring Branch District Board of Directors wishes everyone a very happy holiday season and happy new year!
