District A recently held the annual Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Meeting to discuss upcoming street and drainage projects. Mayor Turner did not attend our meeting to hear the need for these projects from our community. While I continue to fight for these projects constantly, community members directly sharing their flooding experiences at Public Session can make a huge impact.
I rented a bus to give you an opportunity to talk directly to Mayor Turner and City Council about project needs in District A at Public Session on Tuesday, June 28th before the CIP vote on Wednesday, June 29th.
The bus will depart from Trini Mendenhall Community Center (1414 Wirt Road) on Tuesday, June 28th at 12:30 PM. No exceptions will be made to the depart time to make sure everyone makes it to City Hall on time. Light refreshments (snacks) will be served beginning at 12:15 PM inside the community center.
If you would like to attend, you must follow the directions below:
1. Register with my office by sending an e-mail to [email protected] or by calling my office at 832-393-3010. First Come, first served. Space is limited!
2. After registering with my office, you must sign up to speak with the City Secretary’s office by Friday, June 24th at 5:00 PM. To sign up to speak, call the City Secretary’s office at 832-393-1100. You can ask to speak for 2 or 3 minutes (up to you), but let them know that you are speaking about the CIP on the agenda. This step is important to make sure you are put on the correct list.
3. Bring your ID with you on Tuesday!! You must have ID to get into City Hall.
Please note: the bus will depart City Hall after the last speaker from our group speaks. We do not know what time that will be. Please do not sign up to take the bus if you cannot stay the whole time (possibly 4:00 or later depending on how many people sign up).
