Bandit Sign Volunteer Program

If you are tired of illegal bandit signs in our community, you can sign up to volunteer to assist the Department of Neighborhoods in removing them! Once you sign up to volunteer you will be required to take a virtual workshop that instructs how to properly and safely remove illegal bandit signs around the City of Houston.

Volunteer will require the following:

  • Register for virtual workshop
  • Take and pass an assessment test
  • Meet quarterly for neighbor bandit sign cleanup
  • Will be required to register yearly
  • Document bandit sign removal volunteer hours in Volunteer Initiatives Program Volunteer Houston Portal

To sign up, visit Department of Neighborhoods Bandit Sign Volunteer Program | Volunteer Houston

Library Amnesty Program

The Houston Public Library is now Fine Free, meaning no more late fines. Along with this change, the Houston Public Library wants everyone to have a Fresh Start. From now until February 18th, visit a Houston Public Library location in person, bring back overdue items, and ask for your account to be cleared. All late fines and fees for lost or damaged items will be cleared. To find the closest Library,  visit houstonlibrary.org or call 832-393-1313 for more information.

Hazard Mitigation Plan Survey

Please take a moment to complete the City of Houston’s Hazard Mitigation Survey by visiting https://www.houstonoem.org/pages/plans-programs.

This information assists the City when determining the city’s hurricane plan, flood plan, points of distribution plan, reunification and family assistance plan, access and functional needs and the State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry, and the evacuation plan.
