Low Tide Kitchen and Bar in Spring Branch will host a unique crawfish eating contest, called The Crawfish Open Championship, on Saturday, May 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It’s open to all amateur eaters 18 years or older who are in good health.
Entries will be accepted through May 18, 2023, by 8:00 p.m. A non-refundable entry fee of $20 must be paid to participate in the contest. Contestants will be given a tray of crawfish that will be weighed before and after the contest. The competitor to eat the most crawfish meat by weight at the end of 8 minutes wins. The winner will receive the Crawfish Open Trophy Belt and Prize Basket.
For $20, spectators will receive 2 lbs. of crawfish or a po’boy sandwich (shrimp, chicken or veggie) and a drink ticket for a beer, glass of wine, cocktail or mocktail.
The eating contest will commence at noon.
