Storm Debris Storage at the Silos

Update about the storm debris storage at the silos at Westview and Lumpkin from the City’s Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD):

  • The site will be use for roughly 90 days as the SWMD continues storm debris collection operations.
  • Tree waste will be recycled. It will be shredded/chipped and then transferred for various recycled products including mulch and compost.
  • Dust mitigation: Water trucks are being used to continuously spray water on ingress and egress paths (dirt roads), within the site, and onto the vegetative debris piles as need to reduce the accumulation of dust.
