Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Updates

Mayor Sylvester Turner signed a proclamation declaring a Local State of Disaster Due to a Public Health Emergency to help contain and mitigate COVID-19 from spreading. As a result of the emergency order, the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo will close down immediately and city-sponsored, produced and permitted events will be postponed or cancelled through the end of March.

• The Houston Health Department opened a call center for Houstonians to speak to staff about COVID-19. You can call 832-393-4220.
  • The call center is open M-F 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM and Saturdays 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. They will return voice messages left after hours the following day on a first call, first served basis.
