District A Community Meeting

Mayor Sylvester Turner invites the community to participate in the annual spring meetings in each district to discuss capital improvement projects and hurricane recovery programs. The mayor will also explain a reframed approach to improving neighborhood drainage and streets. Information and experts will be available at tables before and after the community meetings to answer questions and provide resources.

The City of Houston wants everyone to participate and will accommodate residents with disabilities and special needs by advance request. To request accommodations, call 832-393-0955.

Hire Houston Youth Summer Jobs Available

All youth ages 16 to 24 in the Houston area can apply for paid jobs and internships in many kinds of industries, non-profit organizations, and businesses as well as City of Houston government. All positions offer at least 7 weeks of employment, and employers are asked to compensate youth at least $8.00 an hour. Most opportunities begin June 10, 2019 and end August 1, 2019.

Over 3.1 million people over the age of 65 call Texas home, per Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Budget Workshops

Each city department will present their proposed budget to the Budget & Fiscal Affairs Committee. The meetings are open to the public. If you cannot attend, you can watch the meetings live on HTV online or on the HTV channel (check your local provider).
