In observance of Labor Day, Houston Public Works’ Solid Waste Management Division will adjust curbside collection services and close its facilities and administrative offices on Monday, September 7, 2026.
Monday, September 7
No curbside collection.
All Solid Waste Management facilities and administrative offices will be closed.
Tuesday, September 8
Monday’s garbage and recycling will be collected.
Facilities and administrative offices will reopen.
Wednesday, September 9
Tuesday’s garbage and recycling will be collected.
Thursday, September 10
Normal collection schedules resume.
UPCOMING AND ONGOING PROJECTS
Asphaltic Surface Treatment for N. Houston Rosslyn and Deihl Roads
This project will apply fog seal for asphaltic surface treatment at N. Houston Rosslyn Road and Deihl Road, including Little York Road/N. Houston Rosslyn, Antoine Road and W. Tidwell Road. Construction is scheduled to begin September 5, 2026, and will take approximately 15 working days.
Mill and Overlay on Patterson Road
Patterson Road, from Highway 6 to Bear Creek Drive, will receive a mill and overlay. Construction is underway and is expected to take approximately 18 days. A one-lane closure will be in place while work is performed.

Spring Branch North Super Neighborhood Meeting
Spring Branch North Super Neighborhood is reactivating. Its first meeting will be held Wednesday, September 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Spring Shadows Civic Association Conference Room, 10355 Centrepark Drive, Suite 220, Houston, TX 77043.
Please note: This meeting is only for residents living within Spring Branch North. If your civic club falls within this Super Neighborhood, please attend and be part of your community.
