Community Events from October

Highlighting some of the many community events from last month!
I joined HPD and Representative Lacey Hull at the Sea of Opportunities Luncheon to support HPD’s youth programs. Thanks to all our officers who support our community through these wonderful programs!
Commissioner Cagle’s staff and I delivered food to Station 38. We are so happy to see the station back up and running! Thanks to the Spring Branch Management District for donating the food!
We had a great time at the movie night sponsored by my office and Commissioner Cagle’s office!
Council Member Edward Pollard and I welcomed to District A the very first 2-story, 3D printed house in the United States! The material is specifically customized to account for Houston’s weather! I’m excited that they chose District A for this innovative concept.
Thanks to the Sherwood Oaks Women’s Club for having me speak and for the great discussion about drainage, infrastructure, crime, and more!
It was such an honor to receive recognition from the VFW Post 8790! Thanks to all the members of the VFW who support our veterans and our community.
I joined a group of elected officials and city leaders visiting from Aurora and Denver to see how Houston is addressing homelessness (supportive, wraparound services). I spoke about the Navigation Center in District A with Housing Chair, Council Member Tiffany Thomas.
