Get your reusable bags, walking shoes and healthy recipes ready. Long Point Road will soon be the site of two weekend farmer’s markets.
In early April, The Feel Good Group and Braun Enterprises, owners of Spring Branch Village shopping center, combined forces to create the outdoors Spring Branch Village Farmer’s Market at 8141 Long Point Road.
Featuring farm-fresh goods, ready-to-eat barbecue, live music and entertainment, the Spring Branch Village market is planned for every second Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Just 1.1 miles east on Long Point (about a 20-minute walk or 3-minute car ride), Cosmic Creature Events, a local event planning business managed by Jordan Ekeoba, is working with the owners of the new, high-end dinner and cocktail ventures Degust and Diversión to launch the Spring Branch Farmers Market on Saturday, May 1.
Located on two acres at the Degust/Diversión site at 7202 Long Point Road, the market will be open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“Courtesy of our sponsors Degust and Diversión, our 90,000-square-foot, two-day market will be home to some of Texas’ finest food, gorgeous gifts and amazing works of art,” Ekeoba said.
Customers will be able to visit the market and/or purchase products for curbside pickup or delivery. The firm plans to launch a website, https://www.sbfarmersmarket.com, on April 27, featuring items that can be ordered online.
“There is a $3 surcharge for curbside ordering and when delivery is available — starting this June — there will be a $5 delivery fee, and we will be servicing an area within 5 miles of the market location,” Ekeoba said.
By offering the options, the Spring Branch Farmer’s Market will be able to continue to operate in the kind of bad weather that could keep customers away from the site.
“So, even if it rains, (vendors) will still be able to drop off online orders for customers and still accumulate online sales from our site. We will have a dedicated staff to handle online ordering, property management, parking, sanitation and on-site security,” Ekeoba said.
Back west on Long Point Road, the next Spring Branch Village Farmer’s Market is slated for May 8. The Feel Good Group specializes in curating markets that combine farmer’s market essentials, local artisans, & family-friendly entertainment from life-size chess to free face painting to acrobatic performances.
“While you have many vendors to shop, we also create an experience to ensure your little ones have a wonderful time and don’t want to leave,” The Feel Good Group says.
In addition to allowing small businesses to sell their wares and foodstuffs, both markets will draw foot traffic to the sites of new and upcoming local businesses.
For example, Braun Enterprises’ Spring Branch Village is home to Slowpokes coffee and a soon-to-open location for Feges BBQ, which will be the area’s first self-service tap wall, featuring more than 80 options for craft beer, wine, cocktails and spirits.
