If you loved the Instagrammable candy-covered world that was Candytopia at the Marq’E Entertainment Center, you’re in for another treat with Movietopia, now open in the same space for a limited time.

As you enter, you’re told, “You got the part!” And, after a little introduction, you find yourself transported into the sets of various popular movies.

Planet Hollywood and Candytopia joined forces to create Movietopia. As you wander through the exhibits, there are treats to be found along the way and they aren’t just visual treats. Look for candy samples along the way, starting with popcorn-flavored taffy in the first room.

There is plenty for kids and teens to do and take selfies with but Movietopia will bring out the kid in even the harshest adult movie critic with clever experiences and photo opportunities.

If, like me, you’ve watched Ferris Bueller lip sync to “Danke Schoen” and “Twist and Shout” on his day off a million times, you’ll get your chance to do your own rendition, complete with confetti, at Movietopia.

Also, recreate the “I’m flying” scene from Titanic with your sweetheart, battle cyborgs in a 3D Terminator experience and remember the rhino birth scene in “Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls?” Yeah, you can even recreate that. Not even kidding.

You’ll find yourself laughing a lot at Movietopia and, well, isn’t that the point — to have a good time?

The collaboration between Planet Hollywood, with one of the world’s most extensive memorabilia collections, and Candytopia, with its incredible success leading a new frontier for full sensory experiences, transports movie lovers into a multi-dimentional cinematic escape for all ages.

Planet Hollywood Founder and Chairman Robert Earl said he was drawn to Candytopia creators’ creativity and enthusiasm.

“The creation of Movietopia allows us to continue our mission of reinventing and merging retail with live entertainment, while providing guests a truly original experience,” said Candytopia CEO John Goodman. “We are thrilled to be working with Planet Hollywood and their extensive memorabilia collection to bring some of your favorite movies to life with an event like no other.”

Among the memorabilia found at Movietopia in the Spring Branch District are pieces of the Death Star from “Star Wars,” Buttercup’s Riding Dress from “The Princess Bride” and Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Invitation Letter.

Your eight room experience will also include free digital photos (including a 3D photo experience) plus candy and popcorn giveaways.

Also, visit Bedrock, watch the world go by on the original bench from “Forrest Gump” and jump into a pit of “snakes” to recover the Golden Idol from “Indiana Jones.”

Except for the first couple of rooms, the Movietopia experience is self-timed so take all the time you need getting the perfect haircut from Edward Scissorhands.

But don’t wait too long to check out the attraction, as Movietopia is only slated to be at the Marq’E through Jan. 26, 2020.
