The holiday spirit filled the air in Spring Branch as the Spring Branch Management District partnered with the Asian American Peace Officers Association (AAPOA) to spread Thanksgiving cheer. In just one incredible day, volunteers packed and distributed 600 turkey dinners to families with students registered in Spring Branch ISD, ensuring everyone had a chance to celebrate with a warm, festive meal.

From Packing to Giving in One Day

The day began bright and early at PlazAmericas Mall, where volunteers worked tirelessly to pack over 5,000 turkey dinners for distribution across Houston. Spring Branch Management District board members Patricia Maddox and Mauricio Valdes joined community leaders like Commissioner Leslie Briones and Sheriff Ed Gonzalez to assist with the meaningful effort.

By mid-afternoon, the focus shifted to the distribution site, where families drove up to collect their Thanksgiving dinners. Focusing on registered students and their families allowed the district’s sponsorship to target and immediately impact the Spring Branch community.
Cars lined up as volunteers handed out the meals with smiles and warm wishes. Spring Branch Management District board member Stephanie Bryson and her family joined HPD officers and volunteers from SpringSpirit to make the distribution a seamless and joyous experience. For many families who showed up, it was a reminder of the community’s care and support.

A Strong Collaboration with the Spring Branch ISD

The management district expresses appreciation to the Spring Branch ISD for graciously allowing the distribution to take place at Hollibrook Elementary School. Providing a central and accessible location for families to receive their Thanksgiving dinners helped ensure that hundreds of families could gather around their tables this Thanksgiving with full hearts and full plates.

Looking back on a day of Charity

From packing meals to handing them out, it was a day that embodied the true spirit of giving which the management district was honored to be a part of.

As the district looks forward to the holiday season, it remains committed to finding ways to support and uplift its community, proving once again that small acts of kindness can create a big impact.
