Terrance Warren, son Carter

Fitness trainer Terrance Warren is the epitome of an “elevated entrepreneur.” In March he opened his first Warren-T Fitness outlet in the Spring Branch Management District.

With himself as the main trainer, Warren is backed by a diverse team of trainers and instructors, with a total of seven staff members.

The Warren-T Fitness concept is a gym that caters to any type of clientele seeking a unique experience.

It’s “a gym with a twist,” he said.

Warren said he was motivated to create a business to show his children, Carter and Amaya, lessons about working hard and striving toward a goal.

He originally worked as a personal trainer at the YMCA and “the rest was history,” with his clientele growing quickly to the point where he built out huge classes.

After developing a customer base in the Briargrove/Piney Point area, Warren started looking for a location for his own gym, inspired by other trainers who had done likewise at storefront operations.

In his search for a commercial space, Warren was inspired by a good friend to explore the idea of settling in Spring Branch. There, he explained, he was attracted to the diverse demographics of potential customers.

“It honestly just fell in place,” he said.

How did the business name come about?

“Years ago I put a challenge on social media for people to come up with the name of the company and the winner will get $100,” Warren said. “However, people were dropping names left and right, but none of them were hitting home, until (my) mother, Rejeana Warren, put “Warren T Fitness.”

Of course, it’s a play on the word “warranty,” a reference to his clients receiving a guarantee their fitness goals will be reached.

The gym offers a myriad of training options, including memberships and one-on-one and group classes in addition to massage services.

As an example of the gym’s fees, a 45-minute personal session starts at $60, with a discount for the purchase of multiple sessions.

Group experiences are $60 for four weekly classes, with per-class discounts for the purchase of more classes.

Business hours vary with the customers’ schedules: Warren said he is normally there at 5 a.m. in case someone wants to be an early bird who catches the worm.
Starting June 12, the gym will also conduct summer classes through Aug. 10 for kids ages 8 to 17.

Another perk: The gym is a drop-off point for meals sold by My Fit Foods.
