Nice Winery Best All-Around Winery Winners
The final days of the 2025 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo are upon us, but there’s still time to enjoy the fruits of the labor of area businesses and students who won big at this year’s rodeo.
Also, rodeo deals are still available for all to enjoy in the Spring Branch District!
Wine Winners
Nice Winery, located at 1220 Lumpkin Rd. in the Spring Branch District, was honored with the 2025 Top All-Around Winery award.
Top All-Around Winery is awarded to the winery with the most accumulated points across all entries in the 2025 Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition.
This annual event attracts the best wine producers globally, making the selection process a true testament to the quality of wines presented. This year, there were 2,876 wine entries.
The panel of esteemed judges, composed of industry experts, winemakers, and connoisseurs, rigorously evaluated a wide range of wines across a bevy of categories including red, white, sparkling and more. Each wine was carefully assessed based on aroma, taste, appearance, and overall balance.
To celebrate this honor, Nice Winery is selling cases of their award-winning wines for everyone to enjoy. Also, if you’re on the rodeo grounds, head to the Champion Wine Garden to sample Nice Winery Courage Red, Yakima Valley, 2022. (Hint: It’s #905 on the menu.)

Art Winners
Competing against artists from more than 130 school districts in the Houston area, Spring Branch ISD students earned numerous honors for their artwork this year at the rodeo.
Seventeen Western-themed art pieces from SBISD received awards, including three named Best of Show. According to Lindsay Ripley, SBISD visual arts coordinator, it is rare for a district to earn as many Special Merit awards as SBISD has.
“It is a testament to the hard work of our gifted student artists and the guidance of their art teachers,” Ripley said. “I am so impressed with these incredible artists!”
In addition to the Best of Show, Gold Medal and Special Merit awards, six SBISD pieces were selected for the School Art Auction during the rodeo.
The Western-themed artwork of all the School Art honorees, including the 17 from SBISD, will be on display in the Hayloft Gallery at NRG Center through March 23. Don’t miss it!
