If copious amounts of the color pink make you want to chug Pepto Bismol, you might want to stay home this weekend and avoid any device that delivers promotional messages.
It’s the first weekend of the much-hyped new Barbie movie and everything, it seems, is coming up rosy.
If you Google “Barbie,” “Margot Robbie,” “Ryan Gosling” or “Greta Gerwig,” (the character, the actors, the director), the search engine will throw glitter and turn the screen pink.
“Barbie” will be shown 27 times today (July 21) at the Edwards Cinema at the Marq’E Houston, 7620 Katy Freeway.

Panaderia La Michoacana, 2037 Wirt Rd., asks via social media: “Have you bought tickets to the movie yet?”
On Instagram, the bakery is showcasing a bright pink and tasty-looking torte personalized with a “¿Quieres ver Barbie conmigo?” (Do you want to see Barbie with me?) message, complete with tickets to the movie.
Planning a pre- or post-movie party? Las Delicias Mexicanas, 2404 Gessner Rd., will make you a Barbie-themed piñata for your fuchsia fiesta. Call (281) 898-8448 to order.
Busy Barbies need fuel and hydration to get through this exciting weekend.
At Tacos Doña Lena, 8788 Hammerly Blvd., you can be a “Carbie” girl in a Taco World. The popular taqueria is serving handmade Barbie Pink Gorditas (pockets filled with refried beans, cheese and your choice of meat) and Barbirria Gorditas filled with beef birria (stewed meat). Both meals are served with Barbie pink salsa on a pink plate. To drink, try the La Barbie Strawberry Pink Horchata.
Slowpokes
Slowpokes, 8147 Long Point Rd., is preparing for the hot weekend with its special Barbie Girl berry cream lemonade and, for Barbies who need a little pick-me-up, Barbie World latte — an iced vanilla latte topped with strawberry cold foam and glittery pink sprinkles. The drinks are available through July 23.
World Catering Bakery, 1073 Silber, suggests pairing their pink vanilla bean rum cakelettes with raspberry iced lattes from their coffee vendor, Katz Coffee, for the ultimate Barbie sugar rush.
Healthy Fix Nutrition
Ignite your inner Barbie at Healthy Fix Nutrition, 2755 Gessner, with themed energy drinks and meal replacement shakes. The menu offers something for everyone, whether you like tropical flavors such as Malibu Barbie, Gymnast Barbie with wild berry protein and Ken with açai hydration.
