If you dread the thought of spending hours in the kitchen preparing a Thanksgiving feast, put away that recipe book, put up your feet, pick up the phone and order “Thanksgiving To Go” from a restaurant in the Spring Branch Management District.

At Feges BBQ, 8217 Long Point Rd., which often makes the lists of best BBQ in town, the deadline to order and pay for Thanksgiving food is Wednesday, Nov. 15. Choose from a whole smoked turkey for $135 or a whole turkey breast for $60 and/or sausage ($20), pork ribs ($45) and brisket ($60-$160).

Don’t forget the sides! It’s nearly impossible to choose among pimento mac & cheese, Korean-braised greens, sweet & spicy sprouts or hogfat cornbread, among others. So, you might as well get an order of each;  everyone loves Thanksgiving leftovers!

Warehouse 72

If you can handle cooking the turkey (or order it from Feges), Warehouse 72 will take care of all the sides this year.

The restaurant at 7620 Katy Fwy. in the Marq’E Entertainment Centre is offering a variety of salads, roasted baby potatoes, grilled broccolini, roasted brussel sprouts, mac & cheese, whipped potatoes and more.

Do you love Warehouse 72 lasagna? You’re hardly alone. This Thanksgiving, the restaurant is offering its famous 15-layer lasagna for pick-up as part of the Thanksgiving Sides To-Go Menu. Treat your family and friends to this decadent lasagna filled with meat sauce, Italian pork sausage, Romano cheese, ricotta and house-made mozzarella.

Lazy Oaks Beer Garden, 10158 Long Point Rd., has added a couple of new items to its Thanksgiving to-go menu this year, including smoked turkey legs and bacon green beans.

Also on the menu: house-smoked turkey breast with gravy or ham with brown sugar glaze, mac and cheese, cornbread dressing, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, crispy rosemary sweet potato gratin, house-made cranberry sauce, brussel sprouts and, of course, apple or pumpkin pie with vanilla ice cream.

Or forget meat and pre-order vegan Thanksgiving tamales and sides at Cascabel, 1415 Murray St., by Nov. 17 for Nov. 21 pick-up. With five types of tamales and seven specialty “meats” to choose from, your vegetarian or vegan guests will have plenty of eating options.
