You’ve got just about 40+ days until Thanksgiving, 70 or so days until Christmas and just a few days or maybe hours until your next football tailgate.
Whether or not you are in Houston for those occasions, you can enjoy highly acclaimed Texas barbecue made right here in the Spring Branch Management District by ordering Feges BBQ through the national food shipper, Goldbelly.
And for the rest of this month October, when you order Feges BBQ through goldbelly.com, you will receive Double Rewards Points that can be used to redeem discounts on future purchases… just in time for the holidays! (No promo code needed.)
My family and I recently ordered Feges BBQ from Goldbelly on a whim when there was a special discount offered just before we were heading out for a football game at our daughter’s university in Illinois.
Traveling all the way from Texas and without a smoker that fits in our carry-on, we figured ordering some Feges to be sent to our destination would be a great way to bring a little bit of Texas to the Midwest.
We weren’t quite sure what to expect, but we were thrilled with the amount of food, the easy warming instructions and the flavors.
In fact, it tasted like Patrick Feges and Erin Smith of Feges BBQ just made our meal minutes before in the hotel kitchen rather than having prepared it days before all the way back in Houston, vacuum-sealing it, putting it on ice and then having Goldbelly transport it north where we took over and sous vide it all (simmered it in a low-temperate water bath) in the one pot and one pan our hotel room offered.
Our food shipment arrived on time on the day we selected online and came packed carefully on ice in a styrofoam cooler with a special note from the owners thanking us for supporting their small business. On the back of the card and also online, we found instructions for two different ways of heating the food — in and out of the plastic.
We went with the less messy method in the plastic that required fewer pots since we didn’t have many, and it only took about 25 minutes to sous vide the meat and less time for the sides before we could serve and enjoy our meal for four, which really was more like a meal for six.
Our two pounds of Feges’ legendary smoky brisket turned out tender, the Loaded Potato Mash was creamy and tasty and the Spicy Korean Braised Greens and Moroccan Spiced Carrots gave us just the flavor kick we wanted to kickoff our football weekend.
Whether you’re staying at a hotel with a kitchenette or an Airbnb, heading to a family get-together out of state for the holidays or just relaxing at your lake house, Feges via Goldbelly is the perfect way to have this highly acclaimed barbecue delivered straight to your doorstep across the country (or also in Canada)!
Iraq War veteran Patrick Feges (pronounced “FEE-jis”) caught the BBQ bug while recovering from injuries sustained in combat, and he perfected his barbecue technique while cooking in some of Houston’s top restaurants, including Underbelly and Killen’s BBQ.
His wife, Erin Smith, is also a classically-trained chef (cooking at acclaimed NYC restaurants including Per Se), and after she took home the win on Food Network’s “Chopped” in 2016, the duo decided to use the prize money to open their own Houston restaurant
Located in the now bustling Spring Branch Village (8217 Long Point Rd.), the Spring Branch outpost is the couple’s second location for Feges, with the first one in Greenway Plaza that opened in 2012. At Feges BBQ Spring Branch, they offer lunch and dinner with indoor seating, an outdoor dining area and a children’s play area. Order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table.
Spring Branch offers a variety of international cuisines, and Feges embraces many of them in its offerings. The Cracklin’ Nachos feature fried pork skins, or chicharrones, instead of tortilla chips, and the greens are “Korean-braised.”
In 2019, Feges BBQ made Texas Monthly as one of the “25 Best New Barbecue Joints in Texas.”
Now you can bring that Texas pride anywhere you travel.
Goldbelly’s “Shop & Earn 2x Points” (aka Double Points) Promotion ends November 1. Order everything from a whole brisket to a meal kit to Feges sauces and rubs here and, no matter how your team does, you will be winning at your next tailgate.
