Expected to be completed this quarter, the Westview Business Park’s three large buildings will loom at West Sam Houston Tollway and Clarborough Place north of Westview as one of the more apparent examples of burgeoning development in the Spring Branch area.

The location was chosen for the park, a Caldwell Cos.’ project, because of accessibility, said Andy Havel, the company’s vice president.

“It’s located at key highway arteries near great restaurant and retail amenities,” he said.

The area has experienced significant office and industrial space development along Beltway 8/Sam Houston Tollway, which links drivers to Bush Intercontinental and Hobby airports and the Houston Ship Channel, along with greater Houston’s major interstates.

“It’s a very important artery for industrial development because of its accessibility to the entire metropolitan region,” said Ray Lawrence, economic development adviser for the Spring Branch Management District. “We’re pulling in developers from all over the country who recognize Houston is a very strong economy. Overall, we’re very optimistic about the future of the Spring Branch Management District. The district is pretty centrally located when you consider all of the developments taking place to the northwest and west.”

Construction of the business park got under way in the third quarter of 2012, and the project is expected to be completed this quarter, Havel said.
